You may have noticed the three new murals painted on the businesses in downtown Townsend. While Missouri Valley Marketing commissioned the murals, this project was a true Townsend community project!

Muralist Sophie Mathis is well known in Townsend. Last fall Sophie came to Townsend to paint the mural on the Townsend City Maintenance building adjacent to The Lodge of Townsend. Sophie has ties to Townsend: her grandmother Bonnie Mathis is from Townsend and her great grandfather
